HILA CAMPING HUT

Three enchanting cabins isolated from each other in a gorgeous oak forest.

This is a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life

and enjoy the fresh air and unique atmosphere.

The location offers hiking trails that are in walking distance

or a short drive away

(although most people prefer to stay in and enjoy the cabin).

Initiation, Bonding and Empowerment Journeys
for Bar/Bat Mitzvah youths,
parent and child, couples, and families
Journeys
"It was exciting! The boys were on an amazing high! I have never seen them so proud of themselves, ever…" (a teacher's response after an outdoors initiation journey with teenage boys)

An empowerment journey is a one-to-five day camping trip, where the participants navigate the route, carve their own cutlery out of wood, light fires using ancient methods, get to know edible plants, cook on open fires, and learn about the night, and most importantly, have profound physical and spiritual experiences that are processed together and projected onto real life. The journey is a powerful experience that enhances the belief in one's own capabilities.

Who is it for?

*    Coming of age ceremony (Bar/bat Mitzvah) –

a return to the tradition of tribal coming of age ceremonies.

*   One or two youths, or a maximum of ten, who want an empowering experience to strengthen their self-confidence.

*   A parent who would like a shared bonding experience with his or her child.

*   A couple who would like a bonding experience.

*   A family who would like a profound shared experience.

     According to the "Strengths Perspective":

*   All humans have strengths and are capable of much more than they tend to believe.

*   Pressure and difficult situations expedite processes of self-discovery and development.

*   It is possible to achieve significant, long-term, learning and transformative effects through a short, yet very intense experience.

*   Self-evaluation – what the person thinks of her or himself is one of the most influential factors on his or her situation

     and future.

The outdoors is an amazing tool for applying this theory.
